Hello Future at 2022 Skoll World Forum

In partnership with Skoll World Forum, Hello Future is excited to host this urgent conversation as part of Skoll Ecosystem Day.

Only 32% of Refugee Teens achieve secondary education. With 84 million refugees worldwide (and increasing) and protracted stay lasting upwards of 20 years, a child can grow into adulthood only ever knowing the confines of a refugee camp. Refugee education is in urgent need of innovation. What are the essential human skills that one needs beyond the 3Rs? How do we prepare them for this rapidly changing 21st Century economy? And how can we deliver the learnings and skills as quickly as possible? Join us for a conversation with experts from the field and direct reports of real-world challenges and proven innovations that are reinventing refugee education, economic development, and their future.

Speakers:

Charlie Grosso, Founder and Executive Director for Hello Future.

Aymen Taha, an international development practitioner with expertise in early childhood development (ECD), youth development, and livelihoods programming with demonstrated experience in high-quality delivery of projects in Iraq and across the Middle East. Aymen has also led programming with Mercy Corps as Iraq Youth Sector Lead overseeing youth programming for Iraqi IDPs and Syrian Refugees.

Muhammad Faith has ten years of experience working in the humanitarian field with a focus on child protection and currently serves as Country Director for Hello Future. Previously, in his role as the leader of the Sulaymaniyah Child Protection Working Group, he has helped improve the coordination among humanitarian agencies. Through his work at STEP UK and partnership with the Kurdistan Regional Government, Muhammad helped establish the first-ever foster care system, bringing vulnerable children out of care homes and into loving families.

The 2022 theme of the Skoll World Forum is facing forward. By learning from the past, we can face new challenges and advance global situations to bring a new generation into a world of progress and positive growth. On April 8th at 9am EST, Hello Future will host a Skoll Ecosystem Event: Preventing a Lost Generation: Refugee Teens & 21st Century Economy.
