Charlie Grosso Guest on We are for Good Podcast

Charlie Grosso, founder and executive director of Hello Future, talks with the hosts of We are for Good about her journey to founding a nonprofit. She explains the importance of digital literacy and the ways various populations navigate tools like smartphones and the internet in vastly different ways. By focusing on innovative education amongst refugee youth, the students are granted tools like digital search, remote learning, and media skills that so many of us take for granted. The conversation touches on ways Hello Future transforms the refugee experience by filling in some of the gaps. They also discuss current challenges facing Syrian refugees, including painting a picture of daily life and exploring employment and education opportunities for adolescents.

In the refugee space, there is a lot of need to just be heard. It’s incredible to just see our students stand up in class and just tell their stories and for those stories to be embraced by their peers.
